About

I invented Bottle Grab in August 2024 while looking for a solution to my personal pains with in race bottle feeding as an amateur road racer in Norcal.

I initially intended Bottle Grab to be used as a personal feeding device where a racer would set up their stand in the feed zone and be able to get their bottles every lap of the race. After getting feedback from other racers about the fear of others stealing their bottles, I decided to make Bottle Grab a solution for race organizers supplying neutral feeding. I’m working on a bottle security system for the personal stand case in the meantime.

The first race hand off occurred at Slug Circuit on April 5, 2025 for my Alto Velo teammate Ryan Dyke. I then did the team feed for Alto Velo at the Berkeley Hills Road Race. With approval from Velo Promo, the main road race promoter in Northern California, I and four Bottle Grabs supplied the neutral feed at Ward’s Ferry Road Race in late May. Bottle Grab was then featured at a coveted Norcal road race, the Pescadero Coastal Classic, providing neutral bottles at a secondary feed zone on the course. Bottle Grab then secured a pilot program partnership with the Norcal Nevada Cycling Association (NCNCA) for three races ending the 2025 race calendar. After overwhelmingly positive feedback from riders and race staff and over 300 successful in race hand-offs, Bottle Grab is finalizing the details for an agreement with the NCNCA for 2026.

Bottle Grab is actively pursuing partnerships for events in 2026.
